I began teaching private lessons when I was in high school. Since then I have gained more experience teaching privately and in group settings. In college I had the opportunity to direct and teach a community flute choir for adults. Currently I teach private and group lessons to high school students through the Boston Public Public School District. It is important to me to make sure my students are enjoying the work they are doing and have a say in the music they are learning while developing good practice tools. Read More

My first teaching experience was teaching group recorder lessons in my home town, since then I have taught all over the world in many different systems. I particularly love working with beginner flutists and helping them to find their voice on the flute and discover the joys of playing. I structure lessons to be as fun as possible while also helping students grow musically. For beginner students, I typically start by teaching from Flute 101: Mastering the Basics by Phyllis Avidan Louke and Patricia George. If the student is in a band or orchestra program, I make sure to incorporate any method books or music being taught in that program into my lessons as well. I also use workbooks and games to teach beginning music theory and karate belt levels to encourage younger students to learn their scales. Read More

Hello! I'm 25 year Berklee College of Music Alumnus with 16 years playing experience! I started studying the saxophone at 9 years old and spent most of my early school years performing in community, school, and local college jazz bands around the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington State. My music has given me the opportunity to travel the world, and in summer of 2016, I conducted a tour of Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda with my band the AfroXchange in conjunction with music therapy organization Global Youth Groove where I hosted jazz masterclasses, as well as performed at clubs and festivals, and assisted a music therapy team around the countryside. In addition, I have performed in the pit for the musicals Once Upon a Mattress, Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, Oklahoma, and Beauty and the Beast. I have also worked closely with many composers and has premiered new works by Nolan Stolz, Masatora Goya, Sean Pallatroni, Brendon Randall-Myers, and made the world premiere recording of the Delian Suite, from a body of international composers in the Delian Society. I have ecorded several works for Masatora Goya's album, Dream of Sailing. I recorded "Latinos Ni de Aqui Ni de Alla" on the Latin Heartbeat Orchestra album, El Regreso. Read More
