I have been teaching for about 8 years now. I am well skilled in classical, romantic, Latin, experimental, baroque, and modern music. Ive performed across the globe, in places such as New York, Walt Disney World, Honolulu, Italy, and Spain. I have been playing piano and flute/piccolo for 17 years now and my love for music has only gotten stronger. In the winter of 2009, I graduated from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance. Also, I am currently working on my Master of Arts degree in Musicology/Music History at the University of Iowa (I still need to complete my thesis). Upon completion of this run in Vermont, Anthony relocated to Chicago, Illinois. He has since been highly active in the Musical Theatre scene; typically having a full schedule of performances in a variety of theaters, such as Music Theater Works, Metropolis, Porchlight and Drury Lane. I typically divide my lessons into quarters so that the first part is just scale work. The second part is scale patterns and technique. The third portion is prepared materials, and the final portion is listening. I bring an Ipod with close to 750,000 songs on it for kids to choose pieces featuring their own instruments for inspirational purposes. I encourage this by promoting practice methods which are likely to foster a deep experience of the music in the student, setting realistic but challenging goals in lessons which require the student to grow in order to succeed, and providing honest feedback with lots of encouragement.
