I do not demand perfection from my students, but I do expect students to put in the effort to learn. I have been in Chicago for almost 15 years, started studying flute in Costa Rica when I was 12y/o. I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese and love cultures, languages, and music from everywhere. I have a Masters degree in Flute performance and a Post Masters that specializes in Orchestral Playing, I enjoy playing anything from Brazilian Choros to Mahler and flute concerti. I then assume the role of a guide whenever possible, rather than an authoritarian figure, so that sudents can discover concepts for themselves vs. having the information given to them.
