I adapt my teaching style depending on the student. I'm a firm believer one can't just follow the same recipe with every student. Every person is different. My main focus with beginning students is maintaining the fun about learning as to maintain their passion for the instrument and thus really putting the effort in. My beginning students learn the fundamentals of their instrument. I want every student to get a well rounded education from me. Woodwinds students study from Essential Elements. Young piano students use the Faber collection and older students use the Bastien series for the Older Beginner. Practical Theory from Sandy Feldstein is used for instrumental students. Spike and Party Cat piano theory books is used for younger piano students. I encourage students to learn solo pieces and memorize scales so they can audition for various festivals. Read More

Throughout the years I have taught in person, online, have led flute choirs, and have been a clinician for woodwind sections for bands and orchestras.
