Depending upon what area/instrument of music I'm teaching, I use a number of different materials, including (but not limited to) Tonal Harmony (Kostka, et al.), Essential Dictionary of Music Notation, Accent on Achievement, Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, or Rock House Method (McCarthy). The skill level of the student also dictates what resources I'll use. I remember sitting and watching in amazement and was inspired to go out, purchase a guitar and attempt to learn some of this music. I have enjoyed teaching music since I was in High School. I I enjoy using my experience as a multi-instrumentalist to teach students about the joy of playing with others. I am currently an educator at a music school in Litchfield County and teach in-home private lessons throughout the Hartford area.
