I am fully accomadating to the students passion and pace, I try to make it an enjoyable and rewarding experience where the students growth is apparent from the begining. We overcome the challenges they face which allow them to achieve what they want from music whilst being very proficient and knowledgeable on the instrument. I accomadate beginners who have never played guitar and are wanting to try it, to those who want to pursue a career as a proffesional musician. Read More

I am a young Franco-American woman who has been devoted to music ever since I was three. I have been sharing my knowledge and passion for the past five years now, in private and group lessons. I am a performing artist who sings Jazz, French music, and indie rock music that I have composed myself. I have had the great experience of touring the US with my previous band, and participated to festivals such as South By South West, CMJ, Northside Fest etc. Read More

I adapt my lesson plan according to the student's level, interests and hobbies away from music. All beginner students start with an Essential Elements series of books to help them understand the process of actually playing their instrument. Once this has been achieved or if the student is already past this level, I like to inquire about what the student wants to learn and improve on. With this information, I give them resources or step by step guidelines to help them with their goal. Read More

I am trained in Music Learning Theory, which promotes the building of the foundational aural and oral music skills which lead to music literacy. For young students, this may look like playing music games and echoing tonal rhythm patterns to help develop a vocabulary. For older voice lesson students, activities based in Music Learning Theory will help build fluency and confidence when learning new solo repertoire. For beginning guitar students, I use Music Will methods to teach chord structures and practice techniques. Read More

I have been playing in original and cover bands for 30 years and I currently perform as a guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist in a cover band that I founded in 1999. My band has appeared on VH-1 and we have had the opportunity to play up and down the East Coast. As a volunteer, I perform as an acoustic guitarist in a church music group every Sunday. I have been a part-time instructor at a local music store for 13 years and I am looking to sign on more students than they are able to provide. Read More

I work with the student to learn what they are interested in learning. All my students learn to read traditional notation as well as tablature. I like method books like Hal Leonard , especially for the complete beginner - but I supplement with other repertoire I have found throughout the years. I encourage beginning with a nylon string guitar because it is easier on the fingers! I incorporate music theory in all of my teaching. Read More

I think being well rounded is important with music and one thing that I've noticed is building on what the student is interested in. Started off with materials builds important fundamentals, but if my student is nodding off to sleep, then I'm not doing my job. I'll begin by setting a goal and seeing what the student is interested in (i.e. what band/song would they like to learn about?) From there, I'll set a realistic goal (Flight of the Bumblebee can't and shouldn't be the first song on guitar that you learn) and we'll learn the techniques, structure, and music theory that exists in a certain song.
