Everybody learns differently, and everybody has different skill-sets and levels. I also believe most people have different styles. For beginners just picking up a guitar (or bass), I'm more apt to have them refer to some curriculum outside of the lesson session, as opposed to more advanced students, where the discernment on what to use as reference varies with each individual. In 2016, I graduated from Valor Christian College with a degree in Music while directing the youth band of a 4,000 member church. I then began my studies at Berklee College of Music where I learned enhanced theory. Upon finishing that I will be obtaining my Master’s in Music as well as a second Bachelors in counseling where I have learned an array of communication and teaching skills for implementing core values.
