I then design a curriculum unique to each student's interests and needs to keep them engaged and having fun. For beginner students I like to emphasize fundamentals through playing simple and recognizable chords and riffs instead of only focusing on exercises, which can makes students bored and discourage them. This led to gigs playing "Footloose" and "Grease" and Fallsburg High School in the upper Hudson Valley. From 2011-2012, I interned at the National Guitar Workshop in New Milford, CT where I study pedagogy (teaching styles) and got to attend a master class with shred-guitar heavy weight Paul Gilbert. After New Paltz, I moved to NYC and earned my Masters Degree at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and taking advantage of the cultural offerings of the big city before moving back to Buffalo, NY in 2013.
