My teaching experience started when I was in high school. Being a son of two teachers I was compelled to become a tutor. I was my first student. Teaching myself how to play the piano and gutiar. My father taught me methods of how to learn and thats what I use to teach. I gained more experience helping people write essays and do home work. Over the summer I worked with children in summer camps..working with children with autism . in college I became a tutor for the English department. Read More

My teaching experiences started shortly after I started playing. My younger brother, Joe. wanted to learn to play so I taught him basic chords as well as how to play rudimentary bass guitar. He stayed with bass for a year or so then went totally to guitar, eventually becoming a touring musician for several years, owned a music store and recorded with Christopher Cross, Molly Hatchett, Irons in the Fire and others. I have been playing guitar for over 40 years. I am well versed in mant different styles and techniques. I believe that playing guitar is an ongoing, never-ending learning experience. I have learned many things from playing with other musicians either with a band or when just jamming with other guitarists. I have taught private lessons on and off for about 5 years to children and adults. Because music is an ongoing learning experience, many times I also become teacher when playing with less experienced musicians. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
