My teaching experience began when I was 12 years old: I started my own company and taught 10 students weekly for two years, culminating with a recital at my house to which I invited their families for a celebration in their musical accomplishments. I started teaching guitar in High School in 2009, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 8 years. I start with teaching proper technique, form, and posture, as well as the basic chord shapes and strumming patterns, and from there I teach songs that both put these new techniques into practice and adhere to the student's musical interests. I typically start teaching students with very basic chords and very simple songs. I usually feel satisfied if the student is able to pick up on a simple song by the end of the first lesson and learning songs is the best way to learn guitar in my opinion. I usually will work with the student on what music they like and what they want to learn then we can sit and learn it together. Read More
