I teach all styles, rock, blues, jazz, classical, funk,r and b,country and have taught all age groups from beginners to advanced. I also do guitar repair, complete setups, and custom guitar builds.I started teaching guitar because I want to share the gifts God has given me,and I enjoy sharing music both live performance and teaching.I try to make learning fun, easy, and eventually would like to see students ability to teach themselves.I create lessons based on an individual basis so people get to learn how to play the kind of music they enjoy best. I focus on indvidualizing the lesson to the student. Every student has different goals, dreams, and personalities. I typically use the Faber Books for piano, Hal Leonard for guitar and ukulele, and I work in sight-reading with my voice students. I also work in music theory when appropriate, and enjoy explaining the "why" behind how music works. I'm also a singer-songwriter and have tunes on Spotify Apple Music. I write and produce my own songs and have had my compositions performed frequently. Read More

I am a fun and very versatile guitar instructor who loves taking a student to the next level with their guitar in which ever style they may be interested in. For beginners or people that are brand new to the guitar we typically break the lesson into halves. The first half is typically practicing pentatonic scales and basic finger exercises and maybe some rhythm drills before moving onto simplified versions of famous classic songs. The expectation is to play the scale at a certain tempo with a metronome, and be able to play along with the recording of whatever song we happen to be focusing on. Read More

I began teaching when I was 17 after I made friends who were younger through the mariachi summer camp. I taught music theory and the overall style of how to learn and build chords based on key signatures. Being able to show these kids so much about their instrument made me want to some day become a good tutor for someone else in need of lessons that are straight forward and to the point without having to worry about a tutor that's hard to work with. My teaching style is just like most I think. I don't rush with the students. Always trying to go slow and make sure the students understands everything. I've gotten pretty good at figuring out when the students get what I'm trying to teach. If I feel like I'm going to fast I'll stop think about what I'm doing and slow down. It's easy to talk to fast and rush as a teacher because I've taught so many students. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student's desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and need. can help you out. Read More
