I put passion and enjoyment of the music above all else. I keep things casual, light and fun in terms of energy, but focused and diligent in terms of practice. I love finding the soul of the song and pulling out the passion of the student so that they are engaged and intrigued by whatever we're doing at all times. If it interests the student, I will integrate training on stage presence, energy and confidence in addition to actually learning the piece in front of them. Read More

I try to make the learning fun and interesting for my students. My goal is to have them look forward to their next lesson and make learning their instrument something they value. I believe every student progresses at their own pace. I make sure the lesson is at a level they can handle, but challenging enough to give them a sense of accomplishment when they achieve success. Music can provide lifelong benefits of building confidence, self discipline, improved brain functioning in the area of math and reading, and the enjoyment of performing their skill with other musicians. I began teaching the guitar and beginner piano in 2012 after I graduated from UCSB and have been teaching in students’ homes and online since then. In 2015, I taught in afterschool programs, notably for Hancock Park Elementary School in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, for which I taught an excellent group of curious learners as we surveyed modern guitar methods, sight-reading, chords and harmonic progressions, and playing in duos.
