I have been teaching saxophone lessons as well as tutoring music theory for the past 3 years. I am able to work with beginners up to advanced players. Also, I can offer flute lessons for beginners and those who are at an intermediate level. During lessons, I collaborate with the student to find music that interests them or what their personal goals are. I avoid piling high expectations because school already demands a lot from kids. I have been teaching privately for nearly 20 years. I have taught children from 7 years old to adults in their 50's. Teaching music is always something I've felt passionate about and I would love to share the experience and skills that I've learned over my 14 years of playing drums to anyone else with the same passion. I have a well rounded grasp on music theory as well as an ability to learn music by ear. I also have experience playing a large amount of local shows with my band in the Pittsburgh area and am willing to pass on my knowledge of the industry. Read More

For example, if a student wants to take voice lessons for fun, we start each lesson with several different vocal exercises for warming up the voice and exploring technique. Read More
Instruments: Cello
. At my students' first lessons, I get an idea of their unique skill sets. Even with my beginners, I can tell what musical abilities they may naturally have. From there, I talk to the student about their goals for cello playing. Some may want strictly classical music training and others may want to expand into current popluar music or jazz. Once we establish a direction, I can assign appropriate method books and pieces that will put them on the right path to reach their musical goals. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I encourage progress. I love to see students become stronger and more confident musicians. I like to get students as much into "the real world" as possible, so I push for getting students performing as much as they are learning. I separate practice from performance, with an understanding that how a student sheds will be the core of what is possible in a performance setting. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. Read More
