It is my goal to customize the lesson experience for every student that I teach. Most beginners benefit from a method book, such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, which is a good starting place for most students. As students progress on their instrument, I choose the method books and solos that will best help them develop their talents as well as keep them engaged in the material. Ever since I was a child I had wanted to be a teacher. When I got to Central Piedmont Community College I focused on music education because I knew I wanted to teach music theory in college. After transferring to Wingate University I began studying choral music education because I was fascinated byhow the voice works and blends with other voices in a choir situation. I have had the opportunity to study rock bass, jazz bass, classical guitar, piano, and even private voice lessons from private lessons all the way up through college level lessons and these lessons have given me such a drive and passion for not only music, but music education.
