Typically, lesson plans are build around students goals. Some students may not have an interest in learning from a "traditional" approach from a book. Although this is highly recommended, I create different lesson plans for each individual student. I typically use and coach students from "Stick Control: for the snare drummer", "Syncopation for the modern drummer" and "The Blue Book" for drums. I moved to San Antonio to attend UTSA to pursue a teaching degree . During my studies at UTSA I was fortunate to get hired as a part time piano teacher at a Music Store. When I graduated from UTSA with my degree in IDS and a Specialization in Music I took a job as a 3rd grade elementary school teacher, but continued to teach piano part time.
