My experience goes back all the way to my college days at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. At Southwestern, I studied with Tim Pope, drummer for Ray Charles. After college, I had the opportunity to teach drums at Southwestern for 2 years as a adjunct faculty member. I then went on to teach at Fort Worth Christian School for 5 years and worked with all their students including their drum line. My method of teaching puts emphasis on the keyboard fundamentals that develop sound piano technique. I use a systematic approach in which the student progresses from their present level, whatever it may be, beginner, intermediate, or advanced, to their next level in a reasonable time.
