Instruments: Saxophone
For beginning students I really get to know where the student is at in their learning experience. I try to individualize the learning experience as much as possible, learning about the student's background his or her interests in music. Also, I would track the student's progress carefully taking notes about lessons to better guide them in their musical journey. Above all striving to foster a great curiosity to learn! Learning music is so rewarding. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
I am from Malaysia and I speak in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and so on. I started learning piano since I was 4 years-old. Piano has always been the instrument that I appreciate and passionate about the most. Despite it saddened me knowing that I would not be having my piano with me after moving to the states, I felt happy enough to be able to buy a keyboard to maintain my knowledge and skills. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet

I also implement techniques from the Sheridan and Pilafian Breathing Gym to establish the fundamental mechanics of generating sound. For all students, regardless of ability, lessons will have some foundation in the breath and the mechanics of breathing. Read More

I have live performance and studio recording experience. I was taught by 2 private teachers as well as a high school band instructor and university jazz professor. My home studio is equipped with 2 drum sets (one for rock and one for jazz). Read More
Instruments: Drums Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion
As technology and the nature of music is always changing and evolving, a large part of my teaching involves work with a metronome, the encouragement of playing along with recordings(even for orchestral excerpts), and transcription. I strongly encourage drum set students to find songs they like to learn by ear as well as learn to notate them. Regular practice routines, weekly goals, long term goals, and consistent metronome usage will all provide a strong framework for any student. Read More
