I fell in love with music at a young age, hearing relatives sing and play, and began taking guitar and bass lessons as a teen.  I then majored in bass and music at Onondaga Community College, which is known for it's music program.  I have had the opportunity to tour the country with a band out of Austin, Texas, as a signed professional musician with a national act.  I recorded a love show for XM Radio, and have had a song played on NPR. I come from a strict classical background but now find myself having to be a versatile musician who appreciates and can perform all styles of music. I started a band while I was in college and we were playing consistently up until March. In recent years I have found that many music lessons tend to boil down to the student practicing material given to them, and the teacher telling them if they played "good" or "bad." I have had a strong passion for music for as long as I can remember. It brings me great joy to share and teach my passion with other aspiring musicians. I recently graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a Master of Music in Jazz Studies degree. I have been very fortunate to tour with the band, ILL Doots, multiple times in addition to performing in various settings that constantly push my musical boundaries whether I'm playing drums, vibes, piano, or auxilliary percussion. I have taught clarinet lessons for ten years, and I have ample experience with teaching adult, beginning, intermediate, advanced, and college-level students. In addition, I have taught clarinet lessons and a methods course to music major and non-music major students at Eastman School of Music, and I taught private lessons in the Austin Independent School District.
