I have been a classroom teacher (elementary, middle, and high school, in addition to teaching adults computer programming) for the past twelve years. Voice- Depending on how long the lesson is we work on vocal warmups then work on a song. In a 30 min lesson we do vocal warmups for 10 minutes then work on a song fir 20 minutes.Learning the proper vocal technique. I began teaching guitar lessons while in college. I taught to friends and family of friends who were interested in learning music, but too nervous to reach out to a teacher that they were not comfortable with. This experience really allowed me to hone my ability to teach students who had an interest in music, but lacked the experience level and confidence to step out of their comfort zone. My teaching style is completely based around being down to earth with the student and to make sure that they are comfortable with the learning process. A student will be guided, not forced to apply themselves and be an active part of their musical growth.
