I taught high school choral music for over 20 years in Southern California.  I have been teaching private piano for the last 15 years, the past 4 years in my piano studio and prior to that, 10 years with the Frisco School of Music in Frisco TX.  I am a member of Music Teachers National Associaton, Texas Music Teachers Assocation, and locally, the Denton Music Teachers Association. I have a lifelong passion for music, with my passion being in drumming and percussion but having a great deal of experience in trombone and a strong knowledge of guitar as well.  I graduated from Wesleyan University in 2008 with Honors in Music.  I have just recently traveled to Ghana for a 10-month trip to study traditional drumming, Afrobeat drum set style, and more. I also traveled to Ghana in the summers of 2007 and 2008 on grants through Wesleyan allowing me to study traditional drumming more in depth from master drummers there. Read More

I've been teaching privately for about 15 years, starting when I was a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Since that time, I've taught students on Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet at all levels, from beginners all the way to advanced players in high school. My focus as an undergraduate was in jazz performance, and I love to teach about jazz techniques, beginning to advanced improvisation, and group dynamics. Allison is a flutist from Miami, FL, who has been playing since she was 9 years old. A graduate from University Miami with several scholarships, as well as finishing up her Master's under scholarship from University of North Texas, she has studied with some of the top instructors in the country. Her primary teachers are Trudy Kane, Mary Karen Clardy. She just recently finished a Teaching Fellowship at UNT, where she was responsible for teaching undergraduate non-performance majors (music ed and pre-music) and jazz saxophonists how to double on the flute.
