Instruments: Piano Guitar Saxophone Flute
For beggining students in guitar or piano, I would have them start with a basic beggining book such as something by hal leonard. With guitar I will teach basic chords and go from there to working on songs. Scales and chords will be a big part of beggining work in these instruments. As for Saxophone, I will usually begin with scales and long tone work- the later being something extremely important. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
The most important aspect of teaching music is to keep the student excited and engaged! I want my students to be eager to learn. I keep all lessons fun and casual, but stress the importance of hard work. I always encourage daily practice sessions, even if just for 15 - 20 minutes. Repetition is key! I discuss our goals for the lessons (what do you want to get out of the lesson? why do you want to learn saxophone?) and strive to meet our goals. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium French Horn Tuba
Hello. I am a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign holding my Bachelors in Music Education and looking for opportunities to teach lessons to students. I specialized on the Euphonium in college and have extensive knowledge of the low brass family, but can teach all brasses. I of course love to sing, play, and even dance because music in all forms is a beautiful art. Some hobbies I enjoy are video games and Ultimate Frisbee for a balance of the relaxing times and the athletic times. Read More
Instruments: Piano Organ
George teaches from the Hal Leonard Piano Series and focuses on sight reading, technique, theory, and performance. For advanced students, he encourages performance, ensemble playing, and group competitions.I have also used other piano methods that includes the Royal Conservatory Piano Series, the Suzuki Method for piano, and Piano Adventures by Nancy and Randall Faber. For technique, I use the Keith Snell Series for scales and finger exercises, the Hanon Series, and Carl Czerny. Read More

I am a huge optimist when it comes to my teaching style. As I cater to each student, we will always celebrate the small wins! Singing is not a linear process but rather a journey that takes time and as long as you try, I will be right by your side rooting for you consistently to be the best you that you can be! In the journey of opening and discovering the voice, I remind students of the physical and mental advantages they can use in order for clear tones and healthy technique! Read More
Instruments: Guitar Voice Electric Guitar Acoustic Guitar
First and foremost, I want music to be fun for my students. I want them to know that all of their favorite songs by their favorite artists can be played by implementing the correct techniques and fundamentals. I try to instill the importance of scales and progressions, and how that connects into learning their favorite songs or even writing their own original material. No matter where you would like to go musically, we all need to know the basics to get us there. Read More
