Each student is different, and therefore requires their own personal curriculum. The first questions from teacher to students should always be, "What is it that makes you want to play", "What kind of music interests you the most", and "What do you hope to accomplish musically". Some people only want to learn a little, others want to go all the way. By asking these questions, one can understand what drives the student to play, and establish a personalized fun and effective curriculum. Read More

Hi! My name is Megan, and I have a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Choral Conducting from Andrews University. Before that, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from Southern Adventist University. Performing has been a joy of mine, and I've had the opportunity to perform with some amazing groups, such as Andrews University Singers and Southern Adventist University's I Cantori. Most recently, I had the privilege of presenting Gustav Mahler's "Kindertotenlieder" song cycle at the Howard Performing Arts Center in Berrien Springs. Read More

I have been playing the piano since I was 7 years old and ever since the piano has been such a huge part of my life. I have been teaching piano since I was 16 and that was when I realized that teaching would always be apart of my life. Teaching someone how to play from the beginning is my true passion because it is such a beautiful thing to be able to learn such an astounding instrument and I love to be apart of that process. I have been teaching since 2017. I started off with private lessons in St. Augustine, FL, then proceeded to join the Community School of Music at Stetson University as a Student Teacher in 2017. After graduating from Stetson in 2019, I stayed and taught as a Faculty Teacher at the Community School of Music, having more students. During my tenure, I taught students from four to 85 years old. When I went to get my graduate studies, I taught private lessons online and in person. Read More

Everything is set in accordance with the student's needs, aspirations and interests. I will help to create realistic goals and schedules, but at the end the student is the boss. Nothing is imposed, nothing is reached if the student did not ask for it. That way I make sure that progress is organic and the student will have a better understanding of why things are done in certain ways when they keep getting better. Read More

My teaching style is based on the wants and needs of the individual student. There are some concepts that are universal. There are also instruments that require more strict adherence to certain techniques. (Orchestral string instruments playing classical music is a perfect example.) Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. If you have never had that experience then you should sign up and find out. I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that! Read More
