By 15 I was performing at local venues throughout the state of Ohio. At 15 I also started playing the guitar; over the years I have added the bass, drums and percussion to my resume. I try to focus on the students interests as much as possible. Lastly, I use rythym training a lot with all my students. If it's not played in time, It's not music yet. We will work together to get it where it needs to be! I use real drum loops and other media for this. This dramatically increases the students feel for the pulse of the music. I have been teaching guitar/ songwriting since I was a teenager. My first students were my nephews and niece, which was a great introduction in learning to work with young kids. Over the past decade I have taught students of all ages and experience levels while working at a music store in Columbus. After moving to North Carolina she started a Baums Music school, were she teach piano to the class of 50 students. Her students knowledge evaluated through local and state festivals and competitions. Mayas students have won many prizes and rewords at the different levels. Maya was elected as a president of Raleigh Music Club and continues teaching out of a private home studio. After moving to Texas she restarted a Baums Music schools were she teach piano to the class of 25 students and teaches music at the Coppell Conservatory. Read More
