I began teaching bass guitar about 25 years ago in Rockland County, NY in a small music school in New City. I've also taught privately in students homes and my home studio for many years. I've taught all styles of playing from classic rock to Johnny Cash, from Metallica to Motown, from The Beatles to Iron Maiden. Mostly I just helped them with their pieces for orchestra and their group lessons at school, but during the summers I would often help them move along in their repertoire and give more of my own technical and musical input to expand upon what they had done in school all year. As a teacher I try to inspire my students. Whether its playing a song for them to motivate them, breaking things down to the most simple element, I approach teaching in a pragmatic way.
