Instruments: Voice Violin
I use the "bel canto" technique in my approach to singing, which translates to "beautiful singing". To me, beauty of sounds is the most important thing. Establishing a solid technique for singing healthily comes first, and artistry will follow. Technique and artistry are dependent upon each other. I like to recognize the accomplishments of my students and always encourage them to strive for more, because no artist is ever perfect! Read More
Instruments: Drums Orchestral Percussion Latin Percussion
There's nothing worse than buying a drum set to start learning to play, only to have your teacher tell you, "You won't be ready for that for a year." I like to get eveyone playing something fun and interesting as soon as possible. Some examples of books I like to use with beginning students are the "Breeze Easy Drum Method," "Alfred's Drum Method," and Ted Reed's "Syncopation." Songs we may often start lessons with would be "We Will Rock You" by Queen, "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin, "Back in Black" by AC/DC, etc. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
I believe and live by the idea that creativity is an energy that flows through us, and one's creative abilities can be improved and expanded, through the emotional body, which is influenced by one's perceptions. Throughout my training in music, the arts, as well as my physical, mental and spiritual pursuits, I have realized that discipline, creative flow, and love for what one is and what one does can come together and yield great fulfillment and sense of purpose. Instruments: Piano
Fun, encouraging, and a huge fan of positive reinforcement. The student is led to focus more on learning and exploring the music more than focusing on the presence of the pacing of classes which has proven to greatly reduce pressure. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
Piano can be fun and rewarding for a person of any age! The best age to begin piano lessons is 6 years old, but I also love working with children between the ages of 3 and 5.With beginners, I focus on planting a strong musical foundation that they can build on for years to come. For those further alongin their musical journey, I strive to cater to a student's specific musical needs whether they beimprovementin notationreading, technique, interpretation, ear-training, theory, improvisation, or embracing new styles. Instruments: Cello
My teaching pulls from the Suzuki method and the great cello pedagogue Irene Sharp. I emphasize ear-training and a physically relaxed and technically accurate approach to cello playing so that students are free to create music without limitations or physical discomfort. Though playing an instrument takes hard work, it should be a fun and enjoyable experience too! We will work together to ensure that you or your child are learning pieces that interest you and inspire you to reach the next level. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My teaching experience has been with All About Theatre Company since 2017. Teaching Kids-Teens how to sing, dance and act. I have been teaching private voice for the least year over zoom since the pandemic. Encouraging regular practice and developing a personal vocal exercise routine for every student is something I do for every student, every voice is unique so there is no one size fits all here. I help encourage a students passion in the area of music they are interested in while exposing them to other genres that might help them achieve there vocal goals. Read More
