In 2010, I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance in violin and harp with a minor in piano. In the winter of 2009, I graduated from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance. Also, I am currently working on my Master of Arts degree in Musicology/Music History at the University of Iowa (I still need to complete my thesis). For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Bastien Piano Basics, Faber Piano Adventures, Alfred's Basic Piano Library etc. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
