My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons almost 20 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio, several Piano Academies, and students' homes. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Especially when beginning a new instrument, acknowledging goals that a student has, or songs they would like to learn to perform is essential to helping that initial eagerness to continue throughout lessons, and to help the student feel accomplished in their instrument. Together, the student and I will set realistic goals for them in their instrument to complete songs, technical aspects, warm ups, etc. and I will help them to achieve those goals. Read More
