Over 15 years of teaching experience (including being a professor of a music academy), touring, performing at major venues and festivals, recording and leading my own projects. I employ healthy and efficient practicing and teaching technique through relaxation, gradual learning and individual approach. The lessons may also include theory, analysis, basic or advanced composition and many other aspects depending on the student's needs and abilities. The main goal is that my students are able to get fully engaged in the process of learning and enjoy every minute of it! Read More

For all my students, including vocalists, I always try to keep things enjoyable with mixed repertoire assignments. Even at beginner levels, I've seen some of my students cover the songs thattheywant to learn. I didn't learn to sing and play the piano by being forced to play songs I didn't enjoy as a listener. The key is finding music that is both challengingto create andfun as heck to perform. Specifically as a vocal teacher and overall vocal performance enthusiast, I rely on contemporary ear training as the key method to my teaching style. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
I began teaching private voice and piano lessons in 2010 while pursing my undergraduate degree, immediately recognizing the joy of helping develop a passion for music within any willing student. I have since continued to teach students of all ages, styles, and experience levels at a studio location, in student's homes, and in music schools. Since I began teaching, I've been most surprised by how much a musical education benefits any student in many aspects of life, whether that be in school, work, or other creative outlets. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Keyboard
Read notes on the treble and bass clef. Understand the notes of the piano keyboard and music staff and MORE! As much as I loves teaching and building relationships with music students in my studio, I do not believe lessons should be limited to the classroom. The training process will include performing at small and large venues, which will help students learn the importance of stage work. My goal is to teach students the necessary rudiments of music and performing so he/she can go out into the world and shine as a polished musician. Read More

For young beginning piano students, I typically start with John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano: The First Grade Book and move up throughout the series from there. For young beginning voice students, I start with lessons on proper breath support, sight-singing, intonation exercises, and warm-ups to shape their voice. For both my piano and voice students, I establish a strong, classical foundation that is built on fundamentals to get their instrument working properly and then branch out to other genres from there. I'm a fun and upbeat female in my twenties! I enjoy having fun with my students and making them feel comfortable and able to be themselves! I think true improvement is only made when this is accomplished. I am passionate about encouragement, and making sure the student feels confident in their strengths before helping them attack their weaknesses. I like learning about a student's personality and learning style, and cater to their individual needs. Read More

I do not use a heavy handed method of teaching or discipline, though I do impart the importance of practice, diligence, attention to detail, and creativity. At times I incorporate methods, such as the Suzuki method for violin, or Mel Bay for guitar. I love to get students to be creative, so encourage them to write their own music, and spend time working on expressive interpetations of other's music. I also encourage them to play with others, as it is one of the best ways to practice and learn. Read More
