I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am currently pursuing my degree in music education with a concentration in voice at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. My instruments include classical voice, which I have been studying for 6 years, and classical piano, which I have been studying for 10 plus years. I've also had the opportunity to perform in various concert halls and ensembles around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Beijing Watercube Olympic Stadium, and many churches throughout Germany, which has contributed to my experiences as both a performer and as an educator. CAPA provided Alissa with the opportunity to play and perform with the All-City Philadelphia Orchestra, Curtis Institute of Music, Temple Orchestra, as well as performing with the conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Yannick Nézet-séguin. Alissa continued on to Rowan College after high school, continuing to teach lessons from home. I've had numerous students over the years, and at every lesson try to leave the student with a clear path to follow that is not too demanding, while still leading on to new levels of development. Many techniques I use are self-learned from trial and error.  I've done the work for the student.  This enables the student to make the most progress with limited practice time. I am just starting to teach in person but throughout the pandemic I taught beginner theory such as how to count, the notes on the piano, and understanding rhythm. I also taught many of my parents friends kids whatever songs they were interested in on the piano so they found love for the instrument first.
