I currently teach piano,  to kids from kindergarten to fifth grade, in a group setting as part of an after school program as well as private piano or keyboard lessons. I strongly believe that fundamentals need to be the basis for learning. If students are not comfortable with basics such as posture, bow hold, and how to produce good tone, they will not be able to learn more advanced techniques. Because of that, I don't let students work on music that is too advanced for them.
