I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2012 with a major in English and a heavy emphasis on music. I have studied African drumming, electronic music, classical music and jazz. Lessons are structured with some type of warm up, a technique and solo performance, as well as practicing skills on sight reading. This is good for both adults and kids. They don't need to be professional level when they leave, but I want them to feel as though they learned some valuable things as my student and want to either continue learning elsewhere or feel content about what they have learned and are ready to move on to other things.
