My favorite thing about music instruction is connecting with the students on a musical and personal level.  I started studying piano at the age of 5, making it my career as a teacher after college and into adult life. I began teaching in high school, working with elementary and middle school students. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for helping others discover music. In my first full-time teaching position, I was able to to lead the Greenland (AR) High School band to the ASBOA Sweepstakes Award, the highest honor for a school band in that state. Haeyoon is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music where she received Masters degree with a full scholarship under the Performance 20/20 program, a prestigious chamber-intensive program. She began her chamber studies soon after starting cello with her siblings and have performed in community events and ceremonies since. She is a winner of many competitions, including: the Regional Solo Ensemble Competition at the high school level, a series of first prizes at the Renton Young Artists Competition, the Marjorie Easley National Strings Competition, and the Individualis International Competition.
