I have been teaching for more than 40 years. I began teaching private lesson in my home town, Baltimore, Maryland. I teach alto, saprano, and tenor saxophone, flute , piccolo, EWI, and piano. For beginners, I like to start with the Rubank method books, which progress pretty rapidly. I also focus on tone production and scales as we move along at the level of the individual student. I gauge the speed at which we move based on the student in question, and prepare a practice routine for each student based on how much time they have to practice each day. For an intermediate to advanced student, I work with more the more advanced Rubank method books, and suggest solo literature appropriate for them to prepare. Read More

For example I have 3 students already in Berklee and another student is in Juliard, NY. Other students, are non musicians wanting to learn saxophone and music. I worked with younger students in my program who couldn't afford the rates of the professional instructors in the area, so I taught for free to members of our lowest ensemble.
