I started teaching while I was in college as a swing dance instructor. I got my first experience teaching people who had little to no experience with the art form, and I had to navigate teaching students with varying skill levels. After college I began teaching beginning students how to play both saxophone and clarinet. I teach according to each students learning ability and I also love to challenge my students to help with their daily practice time. Depending on the level of advancement , we will determine the materials that is needed for each lesson. If its a beginner they will start on the basic learnings and fundamentals of music to help them better understand the lesson. I have a Masters degree in music composition from the University of Memphis with a minor in music theory. I also have a bachelors degree in music composition from Texas A&M at Commerce Texas with a minor in piano. Since graduating from college i have been conducting after school music programs for many local schools as well as teaching private lessons from my music studio. I also love to perform and have played with many groups over the years in a wide range of musical styles including, RnB, blues, rock, reggae, Latin rock, jazz and electronic music. Read More
