I have played all around the country including Texas, Colorado, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Georgia, New Jersey and many more. In 2020, I qualified as a finalist for the Northeast Euphonium Tuba Regional Conference Military Euphonium Mock Band Audition Competition. For piano, I have had 8 years of training and have won many competitions. I currently play euphonium and trombone in brass quintets, tuba/euphonium quartets, and piano/keyboard in musical pit orchestras. Read More

I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for beginners. Once you progress with the basics, we move on to trumpet repertoire, whether trumpet solos or duets. For older students, we will begin with trumpet repertoire while combining it with songs that you like to listen to. We might also work on some transcribing whether it is a jazz tune or your favorite French horn solo - ear training is key to a great brass player. Read More

I'm very grateful to be able to teach music and share my passion. My professionalism, and friendly personality will help musicians of all ages. I want my students to enjoy their lessons with me. I will teach my students how to get better on there instruments and I will motivate them to want to practice. I'll also provide my students with different music that I want them to listen to that will help them see how cool and amazing it is to be a musician. Read More
Instruments: Trombone Euphonium
For students in a beginning band program, I will use whatever method book they are currently using. For students not in a band program I like to use the Rubank Method. To build upon those method books, I like using the Arban book and the Cimera phrasing studies. Because sight reading and ensemble playing are very important to my teaching style, every lesson will begin with a couple duets. It is my goal to help young students build the skills needed to master their band music without my help on it every week. Read More

The student decides how fast he/she will progress by practicing very hard, or by working at a more moderate pace. Once again, I always participate in the learning process, as this method of teaching will enhance the private lesson, and a mutual enjoyment and respect will develop! The student must convey to me what he/she desires to focus on, and there will be a "win/win" situation which is always preferred. Read More

A principle that I have lived by in the 45 plus years that I have taught, is that I am teaching the STUDENT as an individual with a particular personality, learning style, level of patience, tolerance for making mistakes and openness to trying new things. I do not teach MUSIC; I use it as the vehicle for learning. When a teacher really understands the nature of the student and shows his/her commitment to making every lesson a successful and happy experience for him/her, then the process of learning to play an instrument becomes a mutual and fulfilling experience. Being a music teacher means much more to me than teaching students how to play the notes written on the musical page. As a music educator, my main goal is to offer my students endless musical experiences that are both positive and meaningful to their own personal development. I am also responsible for teaching my students how to see, think, recognize, and hear as musician, and to understand the importance of being musically literate. Read More
