My methods vary between each student. For beginning students, that are not learning in a school setting, I typlically start with Hal Lenard's Essential Elements For Band. Once the student had progressed, I will start to introduce solo repetoire that the student will be instested in, which could be pop tunes or other type of music. I incorporate basic sightreading, scales, and musical literacy into this. For students with a bit of experience, I have an advanced version of this, which I usually pair with H.L. Clarke's "Techincal Studies for Trumpet/Cornet" and Vincent Cichowicz's "Flow Studies". Depending on the student's level of ability, I might also include parts of Arban's "Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet" or Vacchiano's "Trumpet Routines".
