I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance. I received my Master's Degree in Trumpet Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I've been teaching private trumpet lessons since I was in high school. I taught beginner and intermediate elementary and middle school students in my spare time. In college I taught students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds including advanced high school and college students and adult beginners. I always my encourage my students to pick music they like to play alongside the music I assign. I begain teaching as a band assistant in college. I would lead sectionals and work with students who where struggiling one on one. As I gained experiance my role and responsibly grew and I began to run rehearsals and plan for concerts. One aspect of lessons that I emphasise is musicality. Often I will ask my students to listen to the song that they are working on or watch the movie or tv show it comes from because it is important to hear and see the bigger picture. Read More
