I have spent the past three years living in Miami where I completed my Masters Degree in music education. During this time I was an active trumpet player in south Florida playing with orchestras, brass bands, jazz groups, and quite regularly latin bands due to the popularity of salsa/latin styles in that region. My Bachelors degree was completed in 2006 at the Univeristy of Delware. With children who are new to music, I use my personal method, which is characterized by providing knowledge while playing interactive games, which helps the children grasp music-related issues. With the older students, I try to inspire them by playing duets, and placing emphasis on a variety of repertoire. With beginners, I start with the basics of acquiring the best sound possible, believing sound to be the fundamental building block. I then start with scales, teaching fingering, and basic reading.
