I am very passionate and dedicated music teacher, I love to be part other people development. In 2020 I graduated from New Jersey City University with a Master in Music. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time and have been teaching since. Today I am a music teacher at David Posnack Jewish Day School and the drum instructor at Piper High School. Since becoming the drum instructor at Piper High School we have received superior ratings four years in a row. With beginners, I start with the basics of acquiring the best sound possible, believing sound to be the fundamental building block. I then start with scales, teaching fingering, and basic reading. Of course, my methods depend on the age and level of student I am teaching. Everything varies with each student. At other times I studied with members of the Ensemble Modern in Germany. Most recently my musical studies have focused around composition and experimental music performance. I believe that the ultimate lesson that I learned from the best of the teachers, was how to teach oneself how to teach oneself, as you are your own best teacher. I am passionate about trumpet and music and hope to inspire and motivate my students through engaging lessons. I always play my trumpet in lessons with my students.
