I have been teaching since I was a senior in high school. Over the last 10 years I have come to realize that all students learn differently and all will encounter problems in different ways. Lively and Encouraging! Music is tough and can be very stressful! I stay upbeat and optimistic. It is important that a student is aware that practice and progress is NOT easy and it WILL be frustrating and aggravating. It is how you deal with that frustration that makes the player great!
