I have been a student of local Philadelphia musicians like Eric Apelt, Al Rochlin and Bill Whitaker. I like to be flexible to the students needs and learning style. Ive used many method books often going off what the student is already working on for band or in school. If the student is more advanced I will assign method books such as the Arbans, Clarke, and Charlier books. I also like to incorporate music the student is interested in and wants to learn. I like to set goals for my students. I generally work out of lessons books, solo repertoire, and whatever else the student brings in. If the students have music from classes in school, I will also assist them with that. I try to keep the lesson light, and enjoyable! I do use some of the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements Series material cause it is consistent and user friendly.
