For beginning students in any genre, I begin with learning songs. Classical, jazz, bluegrass, and rock are more easily understood when you spend time playing the music with someone else. Repertoire is chosen with the understanding that fundamentals are key to life long participation and students find positive success when they are able to then share a completed work with their friends and family (think holiday get-togethers!) Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I'm a classically trained violinist, violist and pianist. I received my Bachelors degree and Masters Degree in Music from Florida International University's School of Music. I currently perform and teach around the Greater Miami area, and have had the opportunity to share my music all the way to Israel, Ireland, and Cuba.
