I am a violinist of 15 years and have been teaching since 2014. I received my BA in an unrelated field in 2017, but incorporated music into a number of courses and assignments. I took private lessons in 2015, from 2008-2010, and from 2004-2006. I have soloed with Rainbow City Orchestra (for whom I served as Concertmaster from 2011-2015), Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Edmonds-Woodway High School Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. I have also performed in pit orchestras for numerous musicals with Driftwood Players and Madrona Children's Theater. Read More

My teaching experience varies for each of the instruments I instruct. I began teaching private lessons for guitar in 2004. My voice instruction began in 2009, and the rest of the listed instruments I began to teach in 2012. I believe consistent daily practice is essential for improvement in my students, and encourage my students to log their practice time. In the words of my professor Todd Woodbury, "You do not become a master from what you do within these lessons. Read More

My students are encouraged to take an active part in setting goals for their learning so that they develop a sense of autonomy early on in their musical careers. I ask all students that are new to me if there is specific music they wish to be able to play, what their "wish list" is for their own personal improvement and what they think they do best/what they most enjoy about violin or music as a whole; Read More

So I set out on a journey to answer those questions. I devoted my life to learning music, moved to Bellingham to study music and composition at WWU, studying the science and art of playing music with emotion, and writing music that makes my audience feel what I want them to feel. In-between now and then, my music career took a lot of twists and turns, ups and downs, and ins and outs. Read More

I focus on posture, theory, and intonation, and once these basics are mastered, the sky's the limit! I've taught a variety of classical music, fiddle music, popular and Disney music, even rock and roll. The thing to remember is that every musical experience will teach a student something, so once we have the basics down, students really get to choose their music that they want to play. Other advanced techniques that we'll work on include shifting, double stops, vibrato, and more. Read More

I'm a lifelong musician and grew up playing piano with my grandparents, who are both concert pianists and taught me how to play. I have my A.A. in music from Mt. San Jacinto C.C. and have studied under a number of great professional artists. I have been in a ZZ Top and Led Zeppelin tribute band, as well as a 00's and 10's rock cover band. I've participated in a number of students bands and accompanied violinists and singers during recitals and events. Read More
