Margaret Pardee was one of my notable teachers when I studied at Juilliard as a Fulbright scholar. Miss Pardee was Ivan Galamian's assistant trough his teaching career. I hold a Doctoral Diploma from a National Conservatory in Italy where I learned the legendary tradition of the ITALIAN violin school: from Vivaldi to Viotti, from Viotti to Rolla, from Rolla to Paganini, from Paganini to Sivori, from Sivori to Serato and from Serato to Gulli. Every student have their own learning curve, I'm patience and usually explain in different ways if needed. Set small goals make students feel that they are progressing and motivate them to keep learning. I believe music is an essential part of education, thats why on my lessons I encourage my students to bring and learn their favorite music along with different kind of exercises to help with rhythm and intonation. I’m a passionate instructor that has enthusiastic energy and desire to make students improve. I believe that not only does the instructor must be talented good, but also know how to teach and build a strong trusting relationship to help achieve the student’s goals and see their progress. I am currently working on getting my bachelor’s degree in viola performance at the University of Houston on scholarship studying under Suzanne LeFevre, professional violist who plays at the Houston Grand Opera, and alongside with Wayne Brooks, principal chair violist from the Houston Symphony. Throughout my time here, I solidified my teaching skills through my learning in person and online due to the pandemic. It was very hard to complete the degree but I ended up being the first student in my class to officially pass the oral thesis and attain the degree. Through my educational and teaching experiences, I have learned a variety of rehearsal techniques and assessments that benefit student learning, as well as completed advanced/supplementary classes in conducting, all secondary instruments, and technology in music. For beginner students, i typically like to work with the tried and true Suzuki books, as well as theory practice with Essential Elements for violin, and the Faber books for pianists. I will begin to introduce solo work as skills build, but we will always be working on something that the student genuinely is interested in. For adults/ intermediate or advanced students i try to find what the student is interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep lessons fun and engaging while also slightly challenging to further understanding of technical abilities. For beginning students, I always start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. I've found this book to be the best at introducing the instrument and reading the music. I may or may not continue teaching out of the books (there's 3), but that depends on the student. By book 2 or 3 I usually begin introducing Suzuki, as there are many solo pieces for them. Suzuki is also great for teaching technique, which is essential to their skill-set. Read More

My fourteen years as a strings teacher has included both private lessons and public school settings. Many of his students have gone on to be involved in regional orchestras, Houston Youth Symphony, and university orchestras. From 2007 through 2010 orchestras under my care have earned consistent First Division ratings at UIL competitions, including “Sweepstakes” honors in 2008. Other superior and first division honors include those from the Humble Invitational, Pride of Texas and Soundwaves music festivals. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
