Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Fiddle
My teaching style is completely dependent on the needs and goals of the student. However, the structure of all my lessons are similar. Half of each lesson will be dedicated to technique and half of the lesson will be dedicated to a piece/tune that the student has chosen and wants to work on. I structure my lessons this way so that way the student has agency in their own learning and can learn the things they want to learn, while also building a strong technical foundation Read More

My goal as a Strings Instructor is to have my students be exposed to all the wonderful music that is out there in the world and to develop an appreciation for it. Some students haven't even decided what their favorite music is when they come to me. Students enjoy discovering music and it is my goal to guide them. I like to have students write out their goals as performers and musicians. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Viola Trumpet
I've taught piano and violin for many years and enjoy the rewards and the challenges of working with students and having them learn the skills to both enjoy and succeed in music. I have also spent a number of years as music director for several different schools and churches working with choirs and handbells. I have found that when students are motivated and inspired there is practically no limit to what they can accomplish, and helping to provide that inspiration is one of my greatest goals, and why I enjoy teaching. Instruments: Violin Bass Guitar
I began teaching in 2020 during the pandemic. My experience during then was mostly through online lessons. During these lessons, I organized group sessions for students and recitals where they were able to showcase their ability. In 2021 I began lessons in person and also expanded to teaching bass as well. My former students currently are members of their youth orchestras as well as musicians in some of the local bands. My hope is to enable students to play whatever genre they desire, whether that be classical, jazz, or even pop. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Violin Viola Fiddle
For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. For fiddling, I gauge the students' strengths and develop some exercises that will enhance their sound and overall technique. Then, we choose tunes that are interesting to the student and work through them either one or a few at a time, depending on what is a comfortable work load and also a comfortable challenge. Read More
Instruments: Violin Banjo Fiddle
I have been teaching since I was about 14 years old. In addition to teaching private lessons to children and adults, I run my own fiddle camp called Oak Park Fiddle Camp, and have taught workshops and festivals at camps such at Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp. Read More
