I have 17 years of teaching experience starting while I was still in graduate school. My main focus is having students practice regularly, like the piece they are playing, and gain a passion for their instrument. I always play with my students in order for them to gain experience in chamber music as well as to make sure they know their parts well. I like their use of multiple companion books throughout each and every level. My approach is definitely supportive and positive, but I don't let that get in the way of challenging the student. I am not afraid to tell the student that they can do better. It's very important to get to know the student's goals and inspirations. That way, I can focus on the skills they need. Typically with the younger students, I do like to incorporate a lot of games, challenges, and rewards to help them find their motivation. I am a creative and enthusiastic violinist based in the Northwest Indiana region. I graduated with a degree in music with an emphasis in performance in 2018 from Butler University. During my undergraduate career, I was principal 2nd violinist with the Butler Symphony and performed two solo recitals. Additionally, I performed with the Butler Ballet and Opera Orchestras, as well as with local symphonies (Hendricks Symphony and Danville Symphony).
