Typically, if a student is brand new we will start with learning the basics of the violin and reading music using various excerpts and hands on experience. I am a fairly new teacher (six months experience), and it has been quite exciting to formalize my methods as I find the style that best suits me and my students. I am a Venezuelan violinist who grew up in "El Sistema", which has let people learn to love music, and has given the opportunity to less resourceful kids to make music through dedication and team work. In 2002 I joined my city's orchestra, the "Ciudad Guayana" orchestra in Venezuela. I played both first and second violin throughout my 16 years of being there.
