For beginning students, I typically teach using Hal Leonard's Essential Elements book and the Flesch Urstudien book. Every student is different. I treat my students as individuals and adjust my teaching style to achieve optimal results. Yes for teaching piano I use Nancy and Randall Faber's books. I have used all of them. For guitar and mandolin I generally do not use a "book". I'm a unique and creative teacher who's passionate about developing the all-around musician. In 2012, I graduated from the Eastman School of Music with degrees in Viola Performance and from the highly acclaimed Music Education program. My time in school helped me to understand the necessity of properly developing musicianship as well as the technical skills required to play an instrument. This leads to more valuable and enjoyable lessons for the students. Read More

I want to get to know the real you before I get to hear you playyour interests, your goals. This allows me to see your playing as an extension of your personality. From there, learning is a matter of learning the vocabthe technique on the instrument that lets your unique personality shine through. Read More
Instruments: Violin
For beginning students, I like to build a foundation of training the ear, learning the language of music, and becoming connected with their instruments. I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or the Suzuki books. For intermediate students, I try and develop good building blocks for technique and facilities for getting around the violin. This is also a good stage to start introducing more advanced repertoire. For advanced students, I focus a lot on developing a deeper and more mature sound that really takes violin playing to the next level. Read More
