Instruments: Voice Music
I have been teaching private voice for five years, and I specialize in a multitude of styles, including musical theatre, legit, and pop/rock. Additionally, I have worked as a teaching assistant for Acting Through Song class at Shenandoah Conservatory, and I recently music directed a production of REEFER MADNESS. My passion for teaching begins with the students’ need for artistry. Singing is a beautiful way to express emotion and convey stories, and my job is to help the artist do so in a sustainable, creative fashion. Read More

I began teaching private lessons 5 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in their homes for the last year. I have been consistently teaching students in their home for the past year. Home lessons are wonderful because I feel students are more comfortable in their own environment. I am starting my third year as a music educator with Loudoun County Public Schools, where I am currently the the music teacher at Cardinal Ridge Elementary school. Read More
Instruments: Voice
With all my students, I emphasize good technique. No matter what the genre or age, singing in a healthful and fun way includes great posture, good breath management, and producing a free and easy sound. I use a variety of different music formats, from classical and musical theater collections, to sheet music of contemporary songs. I've completed all three levels of Somatic Voicework The LoVetri Method which employs vocal science as the basis for developing a great sound and for addressing vocal issues. Read More

The goal of good vocal technique is to provide the singer with the tools to express themselves artistically with complete freedom. This freedom of vocal expression is built upon a few basic principles: an efficient breathing process, proper posture, coordinated bodily support, efficient phonation, and an open or relaxed throat. There are countless physical and psychological barriers that singers encounter which interrupt these qualities, and it is the responsibility of the voice teacher to identify those obstacles and provide the student with affirmative solutions to overcoming them. Instruments: Piano Voice
I teach breath support, vocal range expansion, resonance, tone placement, posture, proper diction, sight reading notes, ear training, releasing tension and stage performance. I can help my students improve technique for any genres of music they want with a focus on building a solid and healthy technique. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Alfred’s piano book library Essential Elements. I recommend Alfred’s Prep course for age of 5 to 6 years old. Read More

I begin with determining the objectives of my student. For example, a student may want to work on increasing his/her range, improving tone, learning techniques for a certain style, or may want to establish a repertoire of songs or “90-second cuts” for an audition. With that information, I design a program to meet these objectives. We proceed at a comfortable pace and monitor the goals and objectives often. My teaching style is relaxed and fun but devoted to working on proper vocal technique and confidence building. Read More
