I am a caring, intuitive, and experienced musician and teacher. Small-group situations such as studio lessons or chamber music groups find me at my happiest and most fulfilled. I have premiered exciting new works at NYU's Tenri Center, at Stony Brook, Bennington College, Queens College's Aaron Copland School, the LI Composers Alliance, and my alma mater Indiana University. I especially enjoy varied religious settings, for example as concertmaster of the holiday orchestra at St. Read More

I have been singing since long before I could carry a tune (ask my poor family!). As I discovered my passion for it I continued to study it in college and graduated with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Music from Rider University. I had the opportunity to study voice with an amazing professor from Westminster Choir College my last few semesters. I've enjoyed singing in different choirs throughout the year. Read More

Because I teach a variety of instruments and styles, each of my lessons is completely customized to each student. While progressing towards a Masters of Education degree, I learned the absolute importance of addressing different learning styles, and working one-on-one with music students gives me the perfect chance to do just that. I develop materials that best address each students style, and prefer to explore music that each particular student personally loves. Read More

Recognizing that each student is unique, i.e., their instruments, learning styles, mental and emotional make-up, etc., I need to be flexible in how I work with each student. There is no one-size-fits-all! I work to understand each student's learning style and adapt my teaching accordingly. I ask a lot of questions, asking the student to think about their own learning style, what they are experiencing, hearing, and feeling. This not only gives me cues on how to better adapt my teaching style to them, but gets them thinking about what they are doing and reinforces their learning, which in turn helps them in their own practice by starting to become their own best teacher. When I first start working with students, I strictly work on warmups for a few lessons. The first lesson is usually when students get their jitters out about singing in front of someone and learn that I'm really not a scary person. I also get to know where their voice sits, what is beautiful about their voice and what we could work on. Once there is comfort between myself and the student, I will start teaching them technique to create more comfort and ease in their production of tone. Read More

I have been teaching since I graduated Peabody Conservatory in 2006. Upon graduating I traveled throughout Europe and the USA teaching and performing for both churches and productions both classical and musical theatre. Some of these productions include FAME, Phantom of the Opera, Children of Eden, La Boheme, The Magic Flute and others. I am excited to learn more about the roles that you are preparing for and how I can help you to deliver an impactful performance to your audience!! Read More
