For beginner students who are children, I start with Bastien Piano Basics. Once the students understand the music concepts properly, at the late beginner level I transition them to Nancy and Randall Faber's Piano Adventures. In my experience, this method provides a wider range of repertoire that the children are familiar with and enjoy practicing! Read More

Teaching Philosophy My role as instructor is rooted in strength and stability, and I attempt to create an environment in which the student feels safe to explore the depth and breadth of their capabilities. This is true whether in the classroom or the studio. I solidify my position with an in-depth knowledge of the material to be presented and with the expertise to demonstrate and cultivate certain aspects of vocal technique. Read More

I have been a music instructor for 13 years now. I have taught different categories of students ranging from 2-65 years old. I started off as a classical teacher for a church choir, in which i taught for 7 years. My students find listening and playing their musical instrument very enjoyable, where personal practice becomes interesting and looked forward to. My students are driven by the joy of the learning process and this has been a reason they improved at a great pace! Read More

I do not pressure students to enter competitions and recitals are optional unless 10 or more students are willing to participate. I do encourage students to look for opportunity to play/sing in their school/church or in front of their friends/family for special occasions. Game playing is incorporated within the lesson time to reinforce/review key concepts/skills or knowledge for group lesson setting of 2-3 students as an additional feature. Read More

I believe teaching in music in an art that requires as much dedication and preparation as performing. When I teach, I dont force a certain technique or method on students, but rather I teach what is best suited for them. On top of that, I always motivate my students with adequate goals. Most importantly, I will make sure my students enjoy music in the process of learning. I have a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. Read More

I have been teaching for the last thirty years although I took a break in the middle to focus on my composition and production career, I would now like to put a greater emphasis on teaching and passing on what I have learned. My main emphasis for the student is to create an environment where they are having fun whilst learning. I encourage improvising and not taking it too seriously. Read More

I work with Bastien, Alfred, and Nikolaev's methods. I also like to use different ways of teaching for different studends as one might not be as fun and satisfactory to everyone. I love giving my students the option to expess themselves and approach them with the methods they enjoy and desire. I use new and dynamic ways to teach using tech such as tablets and applications involving music if the student finds it entertaining. Read More
