My teaching experience started the last year of attending Heidelberg University when I was required to instruct a high school student drum lessons as part of my internship. After graduation in 1991 I had my first vocal student in my home. In 1995 is when I had my first experience teaching in a music store environment. I approach teaching by making sure that each student is learning at their own pace and always remains passionate about music even when they struggle to achieve a certain technical skill in singing. With my students, I try to build vocal technique and performance skill at a pace that is appropriate for each student and introducing challenging skills only at a gradual pace. When I began voice lessons as a child, my voice teacher immediately insisted that I also study piano, which I did through my Bachelor degree. I enjoy watching students find a sense of confidence through their music lessons, and strongly believe that skills are built through daily consistent practice.
